Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Masala Bistro has the absolute best chicken korma in the whole wide world. You should go there. Even if you don’t like Indian food.

I recommend a spiciness factor of 7 on the 1-10 scale (they will ask you how spicy you want it).

I love Passage to India, but the food at Masala is 10 times better. No joke.

I am not advertising, but some things are just so good you need to tell the whole world.

I’ve been there about 5 times, and every time I say “I should write about how good this is on my blog” But I don’t write about it on my blog because who the fuck cares about what I had for dinner?

Well, the place is never very busy, and if it ever goes out of business I will weep bitter tears of despair for one year and one day.

So I want everyone to go and keep them in business. Because they have the absolute best chicken korma in the known universe, even if you account for parallel dimensions and string theory and shit.

The vegetable vindaloo is very nice too.

That is all.

Redneck Snow Kayaking

Monday, November 26th, 2007

In upstate Pennsylvania, there isn’t much to keep you entertained, so my friends and I come up with our own ways to amuse ourselves.

Stinky (the Bilge Rat) has flexed his video editing muscles, and put together this massively over-produced video of Klinutus towing random idiots being his pickup truck… in a kayak.

This video is from last year. We don’t have any snow yet this year.

YouTube will probably delete this because of the copyrighted jackass music, so watch it while you still can!

Beaver Creek Trail

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

The Beaver Creek Trail is part of the once-mighty Mason Dixon Trail.

Trail Sign

Lots of the MDT has been forced into the road by sprawl, and that sucks. But this part goes through the woods along a lake, and it doesn’t suck at all.

Secret Shelter

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

I hiked about 7 miles yesterday. Since I was doing an out-and-back, I only covered 3.5 miles of the great and mighty Tuscarora Trail.

Climbing...

After entirely too much climbing, I arrived at the top of the mountain and discovered a trail shelter that was not mentioned in the guidebook.

According to the sign, this is the “The Wagon Wheel Shelter.”

I crawled inside and read a bit of the log book. I almost dozed off before I realized that I had no flashlight and no sleeping bag, so it would have really sucked to have woken up, freezing in the dark.

Wagonwheel Shelter

I think I am going to do an overnighter soon. Camping in the cold is nice. There are no snakes or bugs, and the bears are hibernating.

Intersection

Monday, November 12th, 2007

I got out for a bit of a hike yesterday. I logged the west end of the Darlington Trail as well as the east end of the Tuscarora Trail.
I walked a bit of the AT just so I could make a nice junction on the maps.

Trail Intersection

By the way, I started a Wikipedia Article for the Darlington Trail. If you know anything about the trail, please add to the article before it gets deleted for lack of “notability”.
